The Innovation Center Microsoft of TPU held a training for IT-specialists On October 28, 2014 the Institute of Cybernetics held a technological training for IT-specialists: «Tech Days: Increasing the capabilities of the data centers with Microsoft Azure». The event was organized by the Innovation Center Microsoft of TPU. Alexander Belotserkovski (Moscow) - Leading Expert of Microsoft Rus (Tech Evangelist Cloud, Internet of Things & HPC) - was invited to hold the training including the laboratory work to demonstrate the maximum capabilities of the cloud technologies and the latest infrastructure solutions of Microsoft.

The target audience of the training was not only the leading IT-professionals of Tomsk enterprises and universities, but also the interested students. The Tech Days addressed the following questions:

• Technical review of Microsoft Azure for IT-specialists;
• Infrastructure as a service (IaaS) based on Microsoft Azure;
• Analysis of web sites, databases, Active Directory, used in Microsoft Azure;
• Networking capabilities of Microsoft Azure;
• Capability to use the Microsoft Azure storage;
• Backing up of SQL Server 2014 databases using Microsoft Azure storage.

The participants of the training were awarded the Microsoft certificates of completion.
