The Institute of Cybernetics held the meeting with the rector of TPU Peter S. Chubik. During the meeting there was presented and discussed the project of the Institute "Telecommunication systems for monitoring and control of unmanned underwater vehicles" aimed at the development of marine robotics and technologies for ocean research and decision-making in emergency situations.

The researchers of the Institute presented a report to the rector, and said that in the course of the project implementation there have been opened a joint laboratory of telecommunications, instrumentation and marine geology (TPU - Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Science Institute of Marine Technology Problems), and it is planned to involve in the work the Training and research center HUGHES-TPU with unique equipment meeting the world level, Microsoft Innovation Center of TPU providing the authorized training, international IT certification and the project activities and the Center of collective use "supercomputer cluster".

During the presentation a new high-tech technologies developed by a team of researchers in the framework of the project were presented to the rector.

It is worth mentioning that the scientific research brings together the students and graduate students of the Institute for the project realization, while giving them an essential experience, as the project is international (the scientists and world-class specialists are involved). Also Peter S. Chubik approved the project plan to launch in 2015 a new education master's program of the world-class "Information and Communication Technologies", and made a point on the importance of the project.
