As a result of the development of the discipline the student acquires the knowledge and skills to ensure the achievement of the basic educational program "Ecology and natural resources."

A student who has studied the course "Resources of the Earth", should know:

- The main types of natural resources and their classification;
- The current state and location of natural raw materials and mineral resources around the globe, the Russian Federation and other countries;
- Resourcing of the world, the place of the Russian Federation in the distribution of natural resources in the world;
- The main problem of the use of natural resources and their solutions.

The objectives of the subject "Resources of the Earth" is achieved at the expense of performance of a complex educational works:

-ovladenie general theoretical knowledge of the laws governing the formation and distribution of natural resources and raw materials across countries and continents;
- The ability to competently laboratory studies forms a holistic view of the resource potential of the planet Earth and in Russia.
