Level bachelor students
Study time allocation 108 hours (contact hours: 90 (lectures – 45 hours, laboratory classes - 18 hours, practical classes - 27 hours), private study hours: 18 - hours).

Aims In the process of studying the discipline, students must learn to identify the main challenges out-of-furnace treatment of steel, variety of modern methods of treatment of liquid steel, to have an idea of the current level of development and achievements of recent years in the field of out-of-furnace treatment of steel and alloys.

Having successfully completed this course, students will be able: • the theory and technology of different methods of secondary processing of metals; • to be able to choose how out-of-furnace processing of steel; • to possess varieties of modern methods of treatment of liquid steel.

Aims In the process of studying discipline students should know the basic theory and practice in the field of casting and crystallization of steel and alloys. To identify the main challenges and variety of modern methods of casting, to have an idea of the current level of development and achievements in recent years in the field of steel casting.

Aims In the process of studying the discipline, students must learn to determine the main objectives of heat treatment of steel, variety of modern methods of heat treatment of steel and alloys, to understand the current level of development and achievements of recent years in the field of heat treatment of steels and alloys.

Having successfully completed this course, students will be able: • general regularities of changes of structure and properties during hardening, tempering, and aging, recrystallization and pre-recrystallization annealing, the annealing with phase recrystallization, homogenization, annealing for removing internal stresses of steels, cast irons and non-ferrous alloys;

• to distinguish between physical and chemical processes occurring in hardening, tempering, and aging and various annealings, to appoint a technology or another type of heat treatment.;

• to have information on the main types of thermochemical and thermomechanical treatment, surface hardening materials.

Aims Discipline is aimed at training students for industrial activity in the field of metal forming. In the process of receiving theoretical knowledge at lectures and practical classes students should have ideas about how to change the configuration of the metal methods of metal forming with the aim of obtaining marketable products for the needs of construction, engineering and other industries.
