Academic activity
1. Radiation-induced release of hydrogen from metals. Main purposes: • Initiates students into physical fundamentals of radiation and low energy hydrogen plasma material processing (RTLEP). They will know physics of phenomena, which are based on these technologies, methods of materials modification, principles of equipment selection and other important issues related to this topic. • Formation of base knowledge and skills to meet the challenges in the design and practical application of the RPT. As part of the practical tasks of this educational module students are encouraged to perform calculations of parameters of processes of radiation and plasma treatment of materials. It provided for the development of technology scheme, process equipment and other tasks according to the profile of training in the framework of the basic educational program in the direction of 223200 - Technical Physics. In addition, it planned to hold workshops on the study of large course sections. 2. Modern problems of physics. Main purposes: • This course is intended to acquaint students with some of the most important conceptual developments in physics in the 20-21 th century, including relativity, quantum mechanics, the fundamental forces and particles, cosmology, Higgs bosons, and extra dimensions. To fully appreciate the significance of these developments some historical and conceptual perspective is needed, so a substantial portion of the course will trace the historical development of ideas in physics, and how physics results become established. • Formation of base knowledge and skills to meet the challenges in the design and practical application of the MPF to nuclear and space industries. The goal of the Physics major is to provide the student with a broad understanding of the physical principles of the universe, to help them develop critical thinking and quantitative reasoning skills, to empower them to think creatively and critically about scientific problems and experiments, and to provide training for students planning careers in physics and in the physical sciences broadly defined, including those whose interests lie in research As part of the practical tasks of this educational module students are encouraged to perform calculations of parameters of processes. It provided for the development of technology scheme, process equipment and other tasks according to the profile of training in the framework of the basic educational program in the direction of 16.04.01 - Technical Physics.
