English for Specific Purposes
"English for Petroleum Industries" is a foundation English course for students planning their carrer in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries. It is aimed at pre-, low-, and upper- intermediate level students who have a basic grasp of English but who are interested in technical and semi-technical vocabulary within specific functional language applicable to the definite workplace. It provides listening, speaking, reading, writing and language practice activities related to petroleum industry.

English Language
The discipline "English Language" (English) is a discipline included in the part of humanitarian and socio-economic disciplines. The goal of this discipline is to achieve a sufficient level of knowledge to solve problems of communication in a foreign language in everyday situations, social and academic communication and implement the further autonomous learning and cognitive activity using a foreign language. The discipline "Foreign Language" (English) is studied 2 years and includes 10 modules (themes). 1. Appearance 2. Students life 3. Dwellings 4. Travelling 5. Healthy life style 6. Natural World 7. Mass Media 8. Inventions and Technologies 9. Education 10. Future profession Theoretical Grammar of the English Language The central aim of this course is to teach students to analyze texts at all linguistic levels, investing their knowledge of linguistics, semantics, rhetoric, and pragmatics in the process of negotiating a given text and unfolding its message and intention. The two major blocks of the course are morphology and syntax. Translation Practice (from Russian into English) The course covers various approaches to translating and provides students with different techniques of translation.
