Irina Strelkova was born in Temirtau. She post graduated from the school №43 in 1994 in Tomsk and entered the Tomsk Polytechnic Institute, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Post graduated from TPU in 1989 with the qualification of engineer in the specialty "Powder metallurgy, composite materials and coatings." Since 1999 she works as a researcher at the Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science, post graduated from the Post graduate school on specialty 05.16.01 "Metallurgy and heat treatment of metals" and in 2006 she defended the thesis. She has been working at the Tomsk Polytechnic University since 2007, combining research and teaching activities. In 2011 she was awarded the rank of associate professor in the department of Materials Science and technology of metals of TPU.
