Svetlana I. Sheveleva was born in Tomsk on June 15, 1972.

In 1991 she graduated with honors from Tomsk pedagogical College №2 with a specialty “Teaching in elementary comprehensive school”.

In 1993–1997 Svetlana I. Sheveleva worked as an elementary school teacher at the school №1 in Kyakhta (the Republic of Buryatia).

In 2000 she finished the Tomsk State Pedagogical University with a specialty of “Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education”.

In 2000-2002 she worked at the Institute of Foreign Language (Zhengzhou, the People's Republic of China) in the capacity of a Teacher of Russian as a Foreign Language.

Since 2005 Svetlana I. Sheveleva has been working at the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language of the Institute of International Education and Language Communication in the capacity of a Senior Lecturer.

In 2006 , she graduated from Tomsk Institute of Engineering Pedagogy of TPU with a Diploma on Further (additional to higher) Education with a qualification “High School Teacher”.
