Olga G. Shchitova graduated from Tomsk State University, Philology Department. In 2009 she joined the Department of Russian Language and Literature in the capacity of a Professor. In 2011 Olga G. Shchitova was appointed to a post of Head of Department of Russian Language and Literature. In March of 1986 Olga G. Shchitova defended a Candidate’s dissertation “West-European Linguistic Borrowings in Russian Spoken Language of the 17th Century: Assimilation Aspect”, written under the guidance of Vera V. Palagina, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Russian Language Department of Tomsk State University. In 1997 Olga G. Shchitova was awarded an academic degree of Assistant Professor for the Department of Modern Russian Language and Stylistics. In October of 2008 she defended a Doctor’s dissertation “Comprehensive Analysis of Inorganic Vocabulary in Russian Spoken Language of the Middle Ob Area of the 17th Century”. The work was supervised by Olga I. Blinova, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Russian Language of Tomsk State University. Olga G. Shchitova is an author of 116 scientific and research papers (including 3 monographs, 19 publications in the issues of the Higher Attestation Commission list, 5 dictionaries) and 3 student training manuals.
