Dr. Michail V. Shaldybin is Head of lithology sector in The Tomsk Petroleum Institute (JSC TomskNIPIneft), and Associate Professor of Tomsk Polytechnic University, with over 24 years’ experience in research on the geology in relation to geochemistry and lithology of petroliferous basins. Born in 1969, I graduated the Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) in 1992; Ph.D in geochemistry of petroleum reservoirs – 2005 (TPU). I had experience as the research geologist and lecturer in TPU, worked in Siberian Research Institute of Geology, Geophysics & Mineral Resources (1992-1998). Now I am running some projects in Tomsk Petroleum Institute (JSC TomskNIPIneft). Worked and taught course of Applied and Petroleum Geology in India in 2007-2010 as Professor in University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES, Dehradun, India). I have also taught course of Petroleum Geology in Pavlodar State University (2014). Delivered courses (theory and practice) - Applied Geology (India), Geomorphology & Quaternary Geology, General Geology & Structural Geology (Geology and Land Planning Department, Russia). Current research activity: lithology and forecasting of reservoirs and O&G pools in the West and East Siberia region (cover and basement); secondary processes of oil-saturated reservoirs concern to P&P interaction; facial and sedimentology analysis; lithology and mineralogy of oil-bearing formations; exploration and development of O&G reservoirs. My special research interests include lithology of petroliferous basins, geochemistry and mineralogy of sedimentary rocks, particularly clay and carbonate minerals. Author and co-author of over 40 published works in Russia Permanent participant of Reynolds Cup (Competition of XRD clay and mineral identification)
