The discipline is aimed at preparing students for the study of elderly people life in various national formations at various stages of the development of human civilization under certain socio-economic conditions. The topics covered in the course of "Gerontology" help to understand human aging process and its dependence on various external and internal factors, to understand social and labor aging and to form the knowledge of legal aspects of elderly people employment. The main results of the study: 1. To know the physiological and psychological characteristics of elderly people; 2. To know the specifics of labor force in Russia; 3. To know the peculiarities of the legal regulation of employment of elderly employees; 4. To know the peculiarities of work activity organization for elderly employees.
