Zhanna Kovalevskaya was born in May 13, 1967 in Tomsk. She post graduated from the school №87 in 1984 in Seversk and entered the Tomsk Polytechnic Institute, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Post graduated from TPU in 1989 with the qualification of metallurgical engineer in the specialty "Powder metallurgy and sprayed coatings." Since 1989 she works as a researcher at the Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science, post graduated from the Post graduate school on specialty 05.16.01 "Metallurgy and heat treatment of metals" and in 2002 she defended the thesis. She has been working at the Tomsk Polytechnic University since 2003, combining research and teaching activities. She studied in doctoral TPU in the period from 2006 up to 2009. In 2007 she was awarded the rank of associate professor in the department of Materials Science and technology of metals of TPU. She is the staff member - assistant professor of the Department of materials and metal technology of TPU since 2009. Hobbies - garden design.
