Calculation and design of lighting devices Discipline abstract. The development of high-power LEDs with a luminous efficiency of more than 140 lm / W and their high environmental friendliness during production and disposal set the task for lighting engineers to transfer almost all the main lighting to LED light sources. LEDs as light sources have their own characteristics. These include high brightness, which creates blindness, low permissible operating temperature (less than 85 ° C), low supply voltage (≤4V). These features do not allow a simple replacement of the used light sources with LED. Today, a comprehensive approach to LED lighting fixtures for lighting is needed, including the solution of such problems as lighting, heat, and construction. In this regard, there was a great need for training specialists in the development, calculation and design of lighting devices with LED light sources. This is the subject of this discipline.
