Modern ideas about chemical and physicochemical processes occurring in polymers during processing or during operation of products and leading to a change in the polymer structure are set forth in this discipline. The scientifically based mechanisms of reactions occurring during the aging of polymers, and methods of inhibiting these processes are presented.
