In 1990 Elena N. Vavilova graduated from Tomsk State University, Philological Faculty with a specialty “Russian Language and Literature”. In 2001 she defended a Candidate’s Dissertation.

In 2002-2005 she taught Latin at the Department of Latin Language and Basics for Clinical Terminology of Siberian State Medical University. In 2003-2005 she cooperated with the Department of Russian language of Tomsk State Pedagogical University.

Since 2005 Elena N. Vavilova is an Assistent Professor at the Department of Russian as a foreign language of the Institute of International Education and Language Communication of Tomsk Polytechnic University.

In spring of 2008 she went to Changchun, People’s Republic of China, as a visiting scholar to teach Russian as a Foreign Language at the Department of Russian Language and Literature of Jilin University.

She is an author of 21 scientific and research papers and 7 student training manuals.
