Received his graduate and candidate of technical sciences (chemical physics including burning and explosion) degrees at Tomsk State University in December 1965. He then served as an Asst . at Tomsk State University at the Physical-Technical Dept., and was then in 1972 an Asst.Prof. at the Institute of Space Technology (now Aerospace Academy) in Krasnoyarsk. From 1976 he has been working at Tomsk Polytechnic University as an Asst. Prof., and then, after defending his doctoral dissertation, as a Professor (Institute of Non-destructive, Dept. of Welding Engineering and English Language Dept.).
His academic specialty is thermodynamics, particularly the thermophysical properties of different materials. The total amount of publications is more than 200.
He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Materials Science and Applications, American Association for Science and Technology (AASCIT)
