In 2001-2002 and 2003-2004 Denis M. Tokmashev worked as a teacher of English at lyceum № 35 in Novokuznetsk.
In 2005-2006 he worked as an assistant teacher, then - as a senior lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages of Kuzbass State Pedagogical Academy (Subjects taught: English).
From 2006 to 2009 he worked as an Associate Professor of the Chair of Shor language and literature of KuzSPA (Subjects taught: Practical course of Shor, historical lexicology of Shor, old Turkic languages).
In 2010-2012 he held the position of the Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Languages and Cultures of Siberia in KuzSPA and also an international education administrator.
During 2011-2014 he was an Associate Professor of the Chair of English and Teaching methodology of KuzSPA (Subjects taught: foreign language (English).
In 2014 he worked as an Associate Professor of the Chair of Rhetoric and Stylistics, Kemerovo State University (Subjects taught: Practical course of Chinese).
From 1 September 2014 he works at the Department of Foreign Languages of the Institute of Power Engineering at National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University.
