Fundamentals of Microbiology and Biotechnology
The course refers to the basic cycle of professional disciplines PLO direction 18.03.02 "Energy and resource saving processes in chemical engineering, petrochemical and biotechnology." The purpose of teaching is to develop integrative outlook on the creation of scientific and technical prerequisites of modern biotechnology and the development of technological principles and hardware design of industrial processes for obtaining the desired products.
The basic object-oriented structure of the discipline studied bacterial cells and function of cellular structures; types of microorganisms power; enzymatic catalysis of biochemical processes theory; influence of various physical and chemical factors on the growth and proliferation, the cultivation of microorganisms; equipment of biotechnological processes. In the perspective of future professional activity deals with modern methods and engineering of environmental protection; legal and normative technical documents on environmental safety and environmental management.
The practical focus of discipline is aimed at studying microorganisms living conditions, the ability to use environmental technologies, the theoretical foundations of methods of cultivation of microorganisms and bioremediation; methods for determining the health assessment of waste water; patterns of biochemical substances oxidation in aerobic and anaerobic conditions.
