The course goal is to develop students’ knowledge about the operation of modern high-efficient energy equipment (including boilers, generators, combustion chambers, heat exchangers for different purposes), in compliance with the requirements of environmental protection.

Course of study core units:

• The emissions of harmful gaseous and solid compounds from power plant;
• Ways to reduce harmful emissions at the stages of fuel preparation and fuel burning;
• Methods of cleaning flue gases from harmful gaseous substances;
• Solid particles from the flue gases.

• Experimental studies of the heating surfaces of the boiler. Teplofizicheskie tests and mechanical measurements;
• Testing of steam and hot water boilers. Special types of tests and measurements;
• Implementation of measures aimed at improving the environmental performance of power plants. Cost-effectiveness of interventions.
