The main area of research work is development of beryllium containing materials processing fluorineammonium technology. Lev Malyutin was the performer of some research works: «Development of hydrogen fluoride production technology from aluminum production cryolite containing wastes», «Development of industrial technology of rare metals ore processing according BERLIT program (beryllium, lithium) to produce rare high-purity metals».

According the results of research activity 19 articles (papers) have been published. 8 Know-hows have been created.
