Tamara Petrashova holds her PhD in Philology from Ivanovo State University with a specialization 10.02.04 in Germanic Languages, Lexicography. She has been working for Tomsk Polytechnic University for 20 years.
She is the author of 62 scientific works and 14 workbooks on foreign language training and language assessment. Among the publications there are two collective monographs published by the Cambridge Scholars Publishing (The Learner’s LSP Dictionary and A Subject Field Competence//New Trends in Lexicography: Ways of Registrating and Describing Lexis (2010); Methods of the LSP Dictionary Analysis (2013); co-author of “ Developing and Using Tests in Teaching Foreign Languages” (2009) published by Tomsk Polytechnic University; monograph «English Terminology in the Aspect of Lexicography» published by LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing, Germany; co-author of “ESP Teacher Development Course” (2005) designed under the supervision of British experts and support of the British Council; monograph «Florence in the Work of European Writers and Artists: Encyclopedic Dictionary for Guides and Tourists. Project of a Dictionary” 2d edition published by the Tomsk Polytechnic Publishing House.
She is involved in managing the EFL assessment at the university level and the National Exam on English in the Tomsk Region as well as in managing teacher training courses. She is enthusiastic in organizing and carrying out professional seminars and workshops to address various aspects of classroom teaching and classroom-based research.
Current research interests cover the influence of assessment on learning teaching process, ESP assessment, advanced methods in EFL, project-based learning and teaching, and various topics in applied linguistics research, including vocabulary acquisition, methods and techniques in corpus linguistics.
