Elementary processes in low-temperature plasma, low-temperature plasma diagnostics, plasma-chemistry, plasma-aided material technologies, applications of plasma in medicine. Fusion oriented plasma.

Member of the IAC (International Advisory Committee) of the conference ICPP (International Congress of Plasma Physics.

Grant activity:
12 grants of the Czech Science Foundation; of those 6 as principal investigator, 6 as co-investigator. All finished with excellent marking. 6 grants of the Grant Agency of Charles University, successfully solved. 5 grants of the Fund of University Development (FRVŠ), successfully solved. 2 miscellaneous grants (COST, Ministry of Education), successfully solved. Co-investigator in project EURATOM in frame of Association IPP.CR since 2000 (funded by EC in frame of framework programs).

Publication activity: 142 WoS cited papers in refereed journals, 32 WoS cited papers in refereed journals since the year 2010. Many contributions in conference proceedings. Citation index according WoS: 1507 citations (1219 without self-citations). Hirsch index 21.
