Purposes and problems of discipline: give to future experts the general knowledge of the main constructional, electrotechnical and tool materials applied in modern shipbuilding. To know behavior of materials in use of electric equipment and its elements and methods of restoration of their properties. To know classification, marking and use of the main traditional and modern constructional, tool materials and electrotechnical materials. Problems of discipline studying: - to know the factors defining properties of materials, methods of the directed change of properties, constructional, electrotechnical and tool materials, nonmetallic and composite materials; - to study interrelations of a structure, structure and properties of constructional materials and ways of formation of the set properties of these materials, modern methods of receiving and technology of processing of constructional materials molding, pressure, cutting, and also in the electrophysical and electrochemical ways of processing, feature of receiving one-piece connections by welding, the soldering, pasting, manufacturing techniques of semi-finished products and products from powder, composite and rubber materials.
