Laptev Roman Sergeevich was born on November 6, 1987, in Tomsk. In 2004, he entered the Tomsk Polytechnic University in the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. From the third year of studying he was engaged in research work aimed at the development and creation of the spectrometer to study the parameters of positron annihilation in metals and alloys. As part of the scientific research practices in 2007, he was trained in the laboratory of the Fraunhofer Institute for non-destructive testing methods IZFP, Saarbrücken, Germany. As a result of the internship in 2008 he defended his final qualifying work on "Measuring the temporal distribution of positron annihilation in a solid" with honors and with the assignment of a bachelor's degree in "Physics". The research work was continued in the magistracy at the Department of General Physics TPU. In 2010, he graduated from the master's degree of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics TPU in "Physics of Condensed Matter." He successfully defended the master's thesis on the development and creation of a spectrometer for measuring the positron lifetime in solid. In October 2010, he was enrolled in graduate studies at the Department of General Physics, Physics and Technical Institute, Tomsk Polytechnic University, specialty - 05.11.13 (Apparatus and methods for monitoring of an environment, substances, materials and products). He graduated from the graduate studies in 2013. In 2014, he defended his Ph.D. thesis on "Development of a method of positron annihilation to control the defect structure in metal-hydrogen systems". Supervisor: Leader AM, Ph.D., Head of the Department of General Physics PTI. He works at the Department of General Physics TPU, since 2006. He is currently working as an assistant Department of General Physics PTI TPU. He carries out classes with students in the disciplines "Study and research work of students", "Research work of students", "Educational Practices", "Work practice", "Research and Practice", "Special physical training". In 2011, as part of programs to improve the skills of the TPU he was trained in positron lab Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Halle, Germany. Head of Laboratory: Professor Krause-Riberg Reynard
