Kolbysheva Yulia was born on January 4, 1978 in Tomsk. In 1995 she left school № 18 and entered Tomsk State Pedagogical University, the Faculty of Foreign Languages, which she graduated with honor in 2000, being qualified as "Linguist. Lecturer in "Linguistics and Intercultural Communication"". In November 2000, she entered the full-time postgraduate department in Tomsk State Pedagogical University in specialty 10.02.20 - "Comparative-Historical, Typological and Comparative Linguistics." On December 24, 2003 she defended successfully her PhD thesis (for the degree of candidate of Philology) in specialty 10.02.20 - "Comparative-Historical, Typological and Comparative Linguistics" on the theme "System of numerals of the Nganasan language in comparison with the Selkup one" (Supervisor: PhD (doctor of Philology), prof. V.V. Bykonya).
Scientific degree of PhD in Philology was awarded by the Dissertation Council of Tomsk State Pedagogical University on December 24, 2003 and approved by the Supreme Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russia Federation on May 21, 2004. From 2003 to 2004 she worked as an assistant of the department of English Philology at the Faculty of Foreign Languages in Tomsk State Pedagogical University. Since 2004 she started working as an associated professor at this department.
From 2004 to 2010 she taught Theoretical English Grammar to students of the 4th course, Modern problems of science and education to Master students of the 1st course as well as Sociolinguistics and Psycholinguistics to students of 4-5th courses, supervised the graduate qualification paper and coursework at full-time, part-time and correspondence departments of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, conducted the scientific work of students of 3d-5th courses.
From 2004 to 2010 she was a member of the State Examination Board and State Attestation Commission of full-time, part-time and correspondence departments at the faculty of foreign languages of Tomsk State Pedagogical University.
Since September 2010 she worked as an associated professor at the Department of Foreign Languages in Institute of Natural Resources Tomsk Polytechnic University. Since that time she has taught the discipline "Professional foreign language (English)" to master students of the 1st year and has been conducting the discipline "Foreign language (English)" to undergraduate students of the 1st and 2nd courses of Institute of Natural Resources Tomsk Polytechnic University.
Since 2014 Kolbysheva Yulia is a member of the All-Russian public organization "Russian Cognitive Linguists Association".
