The program of the course "Reactor Physics" for a direction 140400 - "Thermal engineering" is introduced. The purposes and problems of discipline are formulated. There is indicated what the students should know and can do as a result of study of discipline. The contents of the lectures, laboratory and practical study, independent cognitive activity include: physical classification of reactors; a neutron-multiplication factor; the lattice theory, the theory of the critical sizes; neutron -physical features and calculation of power reactors; neutron -physical calculations on a COMPUTER; control modes of reactors of different types; calculation of a control system and protection of nuclear reactors; classification of experiments; correlation computational and experimental researches; the neutron-physical characteristics defined in experiments on assembly and reactors. There is the list of the literature. The bank of audit materials with the methodical instructions is attached separately. It includes the list of theoretical questions, the task tables of the laboratory works
