Purpose: Formation of basic knowledge in the field of modern electrical power equipment and complex electrical power engineering skills. Contents: basic electric power plants and substations; Electric vehicles and live conductors; wiring diagrams of power plants and substations; power supply scheme for their own needs; management of electrical power plants and substations.

• Technological processes of power generation at thermal power plants and hydropower plants

Purpose: formation of knowledge about the role of thermal and hydroelectric power plants in the power systems of modern and prospective structure of power and efficiency of their work, especially their participation in covering the electrical load curve.

Contents: Structure of generating capacities unified energy system of Russia; a general description of the changes in time of loads; technological schemes and processes at thermal power plants; variable modes and the reliability of the metal; steam boilers and turbines; modes of power TES; hydroelectric power.
