Date of birth: 8 November 1937

Place of birth: town Bogotol, Krasnoyarsk region, Russia

He was going to schools № 8 in town Tomsk (from 1 to 3 forms), № 49 in city Novosibirsk (from 3 to 10 forms). He ended the school in 1955 and was admitted to the Tomsk Polytechnic Institute on profession «Geology and prospecting of the rare and radioactive metals deposits». On graduating from the institute in 1960 it was conferred the qualification « Mining engineer-geologist» to him.
From February 1961 to February 1962 he was Geologist of the Minusinsk expedition (Krasnoyarsk region), from March 1962 to April 1964 he was Leader Snowy Party of the Udokan expedition (North Transbaikalia).
In 1964 he returned in Tomsk Polytechnic Institute (from 1991 it is University). From 1964 up to the present he is working as a teacher and learned. It is awarded to him a title associate professor (1973), professor (1995), it is conferred a Candidate's of science degree (1974), Doctor's degree (1992). From 1997 to 2003 he was in charging of the Minerology and Petrography Department. At present he works on Geology and Mineral Prospecting.

He is the real member (academician) of the Russian Natural Sciences Academy (2004).
He is the member of the three dissertation councils in Tomsk (2, TPU) and Krasnoyarsk (Siberian Federal University) on the Doctor's and Candidate's dissertations protection, the figurant of «the learned of Russia» and «Who is Who» encyclopedias.
He is Honoured Geologist of Russia, Honoured worker of the higher professional education of Russia.
