Mikhail V. Erofeev was born in Tomsk, Russia, on March 9, 1975. He received his M.Sc. in physics in 1997 and PhD in physics and mathematics from Tomsk State University in 2001, on sources of UV radiation research. Since 1997, he has been with the Institute of High Current Electronics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Tomsk, Russia, where he is currently a research officer. In 2002 and 2005 he was visiting professional at the EPG group of the Department of Applied Physics, Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands, and in 2008 at Laboratory on Plasma and Conversion of Energy of Toulouse University, France. Since 2013, he is an associate professor of the Department of Geology and Oil Field Development at the Institute of Natural Resources, Tomsk Polytechnic University.
