Research fields:
Establishment of the regularities governing the group and molecular compositions of petroleum saturated and aromatic hydrocarbons, study of the distribution of hydrocarbon biomarkers in crude oils and dispersed organic matter (DOM) of different stratigraphic complexes and lithofacies formations, revealing new geochemical criteria to justify the scientific bases of the pathways of naphthides genesis in the Earth entrails, to improve the efficiency of exploration and prospecting works for oil and gas.
Study of the processes of the conversion of the dispersed organic matter of the rocks into the components of natural hydrocarbon systems.
The determination of the content of organic carbon and bitumoids in rocks (cores); study of the biomarkers composition, features of the molecular composition of the hydrocarbons and group composition of high-molecular compounds of oils and DOM, the determination of the type of the initial organic matter, biodegradation degree, hypergenic and catagenic maturity of organic matter and crude oils, as well as the other indices necessary to assess facies conditions of the accumulation of the oil-source rocks, migration ways, physical state and resources of hydrocarbons in the deposits.
