Danilov V.I. graduated Siberian Metallurgical Institute for a degree programme "Physics of metals" in 1970. In 1979 he defended his PhD thesis on the theme "Solid State Physics", and in 1995 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the theme "Solid State Physics". He received the title of professor in 2000.

Since 1987 he is the head of a postgraduate study and he has seven pupils with a candidate's degree.
