Marina V. Plekhanova graduated from Tomsk State Pedagogical University, Faculty of Foreign Languages in 1997 with a specialty “Philology. German and English Language”. Since 1998 she has been working at the Department of German Language of TPU in the capacity of a Lecturer. In 2001 Marina V. Plekhanova became a Senior Lecturer, and in 2007 was appointed to the position of an Assistant Professor. Marina V. Plekhanova is currently an assistant of the Head of the Department for academic affairs. In 2006 she defended a Candidate’s dissertation “Formation of Intercultural Competence of Students Using Authentic Video Materials for Teaching a Foreign Language”. Marina V. Plekhanova is a member of the Council of the Tomsk Regional Public Organization “Association of German Language Lecturers of Tomsk Oblast” (2009). Since 2000 she has been supervising an international project of advanced training “Theory and Practice of Teaching German as a Foreign Language” for German language lecturers. Since 2010 Marina V. Plekhanova has been coordinating international project in Tomsk. She is an author of 43 scientific and research papers (including 1 foreign monograph and 5 papers and the review scientific journals) and 7 student training manuals.
