Aim: to form the knowledge and develop skills in the theory and practice of Stylistics of the modern English language and Text Interpretation.
Content: functional styles, stylistic peculiarities of the English vocabulary, semantic structure of the word, types of the meaning, denotations and connotations, stylistic tropes, phonetic, graphical, lexical and syntactic stylistic devices, text, main text categories, text interpretation.

• Practical course on conversation in the first foreign language

Aim: to develop key competences in international and professional communication
Content: practical phonetics, morphology, syntax of the English language. The main topics are Language and Communication, Cultures and Traditions, Travelling, The City and its Problems, Cinema, Theatre, Music, Arts, Sports,  Legal and Illegal; Social Problems; Education; Environment and Ecology; World issues; Medicine; Mass media, Science and Technology.

• Practical course on conversation in the second foreign language  

Aim: to develop key competences in international and professional communication in the second foreign language.
Contents: practical phonetics, morphology, syntax of the English language. The main topics are Entertainment; Science and Modern Technology; Dwellings; People In Modern Society; Travelling and Tourism; Environmental Protection and Ecology; Crime; Health; Ad and Shopping; Food and Healthy Eating; Sports; Mass Media; Language and Communication, Work and Career; Arts; The City and its Problems; Cinema and Theatre, Great Britain/The USA; Education and Educational Systems.

• Practical Course of the First Foreign Language Translation

Aim: to develop and improve basic skills in consecutive interpretation of conversations and statements from English into Russian, from Russian into English.
Contents: one-way consecutive interpretation of speeches, statements, news, articles within the given themes; liaison interpretation in the mode of simulated interviews, business talks, press-conferences, work-shops; sight-translation of various text materials: articles, news analytics.

• Translation in Resource Management 

Aim: to develop skills in translating and interpreting various types of texts in the sphere of resource management taking into consideration the latest trends in their development.
Contents: resource management, environmental issues, fishery, forestry, timber and wood working industry, pulp and paper industry, energy industry, fossil fuels, nuclear power, alternative sources, oil and gas industry
