Information Science (term 1)
The discipline is devoted to the current state of information technologies. During this course students study the basis of algorithmization and programming, coding and data encryption, ensuring the integrity of information transmition and storing. Students are to perform the number of laboratory tasks and to write a report.
The creative project (term 2-4)
DurDuring the term students (in groups of 2-3 people) form the work plan and coordinate it with the adviser, then they perform an individual task according to the chosen topic. The methods and means of the project implementation are submitted with the advisor (i.e. applied information systems, development environment, programming languages, libraries, etc.). The topics of the projects are formed by the department staff.
The topics are published on the department site and the lecturers' personal pages.
Programming practice (after the 1st and 2nd year)
During the practice, students solve the following problems:
- software implementation according to the educational task (including all stages: development of an algorithm, programming, debugging) using a high-level programming language C++ (C# or other);
- writing a report by the results of the practice (studying the formal requirements to the report, describing algorithms graphically or verbally, describing the user interface, presentating the list of literary sources and appendices);
- preparation and presentation of the report.
Professional English
The aims of the discipline are:
- development of essential foreign language skills (reading, listening, writing, speaking) for further professional communication;
- providing a background for practical implementation of the acquired skills in education and production areas;
- development of the strategies of the self-regulating educational activities which provide the personal way of foreign language learning and improving its level.
