Acquaintance with the basic technological methods of obtaining and processing pieces and parts of machinery (such as casting, forging, welding, cutting), providing high quality products and material savings. Credits: 4 Semester: 2 Form of control: credit Form of study: full-time Abstract: the course "Science and technology of structural materials" considers the regularities of formation of structure and properties of structural metals and alloys; the relationship between their structure and properties; the modern understanding of the mechanisms of hardening and softening of metals and alloys. Describes the technological ways of processing of metal alloys: metal forming, casting, welding, machining. The knowledge gained while studying the course will help students independent work, and the acquisition by them of skills in the technical literature, as well as analysis and interpretation of the information received.
