The Master Study is a questionnaire developed to investigate the quality of life of older adults in Siberia. This questionnaire focuses on three psychological dimensions that describe mental health and subjective well-being.
The first dimension is life satisfaction and refers to the cognitive-judgmental aspects of subjective well-being.
The second dimension is happiness and refers to the affective and emotional aspects of this construct. Both life satisfaction and happiness are investigated by a single item, which asks to the respondents to evaluate their life as a whole.
The third dimension is flourishing and evaluates mental health by means of a multi-item measure, which includes ten questions.
This measure of flourishing defines mental health as a combination of feeling good and functioning effectively. These three dimensions have been selected to have a comprehensive representation of subjective well-being in Siberian older adults.
