Recruitment for the Master's Programs is realized provided there are groups with a minimum number of 5 persons.

National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University is committed to the establishment and development of a research university on world level. Training for nuclear science and technology in the TPU has been ongoing for more than 60 years. More than 12,000 professionals have been trained for the nuclear industry, including approximately 8,000 professionals in area of "Nuclear Physics and Technology". TPU is the only one university in the Asian territory of Russia, which provides training for the nuclear industry around the basic list of specialties, ranging from mining and processing of uranium ore to reprocessing and storing of spent nuclear fuel. TPU has research reactor and complex of laboratories, which conduct various researches, realized on base of nuclear reactor. In particular, studies of operational modes, in-core systems and controls, the study of material properties, technologies of nuclear doping of silicon and the production of isotopes for medical purposes, including ready forms of radiopharmaceuticals. To enroll in this program you must have completed one of program: BSc/MSci Physics, BSc/MSci Theoretical Physics, BSc/MSci Applied Physics, BSc of Nuclear Engineering or the equivalent

Program Overview

The Master’s program offers students an extensive and detailed education in the key areas pertaining to nuclear technology. The objective of the program is to prepare students for a career as engineers in atomic field that require specialized knowledge and skills. It is expected that graduates of the program will be able to work as engineers in industry, government or continue their education by pursuing a PhD degree. The program provides the depth and breadth of knowledge necessary for practicing professionals in Operation of Nuclear Power Plants. Under the guidance of a research supervisor and a multi-disciplinary team of scientific and engineering faculty, each student has the opportunity to engage in an in-depth study of particular problems, such as development of perspective material for nuclear fuel cycle, improving the operational characteristics of nuclear installations that emphasize theory and/or experimentation.
