The discipline is aimed at providing the students with knowledge of the physical basis and classification of welding processes; thermo deformational and crystallization processes for welding metal; chemical heterogeneity of welded joints; nature of hot and cold cracks, dependency of the structure of the weld joint on its operational properties.
