In 1976 he entered the geological Department of Tomsk Polytechnic Institute, from which he graduated in 1981, qualified mining engineer - geologist.
In 1984 she entered the graduate school at the Polytechnic Institute, the training which he successfully completed in 1987.
From 1996 to 1998 passed a correspondence course at the International faculty of management of Tomsk state University, after graduating from which he received a second higher education with qualification of Manager by specialty of "State and municipal management".
In 2000, he underwent training in the Ministerial structures of the U.S. government, the controlling processes of mineral resources, in particular oil production, and in leading American exploration and oil and gas companies in the SABIT program of the US Department of Commerce, as there is a certificate.
From 1981 to 1992-worked at the Tomsk Polytechnic Institute, pursuing research and teaching activities. In 1989 he was elected to contest the post of senior lecturer at the Department of fossil fuels of oil and solid minerals.
In the period from 1992 to 1995 he worked at the Tomsk Department of Siberian research Institute of Geology, Geophysics and mineral resources (SNIIGGiMS ), and then at the Tomsk scientific-research and project Institute of petroleum industry (TomskNIPIneft), as senior researcher.
In 1995 invited to work in the Administration of the Tomsk region, where he worked until March 2002, first as chief specialist and then head of Department oil and gas complex and of agreements on production section of the Department of natural resources and oil and gas industry.
In March 2002, took up scientific work at the Tomsk branch of the Institute of Geology of oil and gas of the RAS.
From 1 September of the same year he started his teaching activity in
The Institute of Geology and petroleum engineering of Tomsk Polytechnic University as assistant Professor.
In 2003 he was elected to contest for the post of assistant Professor, TPU.
In 1998 was elected to the Russian Academy of natural Sciences.
In 2001 he received the title of "Honorary oilman of the Russian Federation"
In 2008 he was awarded the Honorary diploma of the Ministry of natural resources of the Russian Federation
2009-awarded the medal "For participation in development of Tomsk Polytechnic University"
