A series of experimental and theoretical papers on the laser initiation of azides of heavy metals have been completed. Concept model on the mechanisms of laser initiation have been developed, predicting the behavior of this class of explosives in various regular situations. A number of fundamental experimental studies on the laser initiation of secondary explosives have been carried out. The foundations of numerical modeling of light scattering processes in powders of explosives are laid. A package of applied programs for the calculation of the light regime in diffuse-scattering media was developed and the main laws of light scattering in powders of explosives were revealed. The ideology of building fiber-optic laser initiation systems has been created, and the foundations for their engineering calculation have been laid. The results are published in more than 300 scientific journals.
