I. The discipline “Foreign Texts Reading ” (Module training programme "English" Module 2). Duration: 36 hrs. per semester, 2 hrs. per week. Target audience: English for content teachers majoring in technical disciplines, university employees. Learning outcomes: successful students are able to: • employ different strategies while reading A-2 level texts in English; • comprehend A-2 level texts on social and popular scientific topics; • comprehend texts on professional and scientific topics. II. The discipline " Training in the format of international exams (KET speaking), grade A " (Module training programme "English” Module 1) Learning objectives: The programme Training in the format of international exams (speaking KET in English), grade A” aims to develop a foreign language speaking competence which allows students to solve professional tasks at A1 level of language proficiency according to “The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.” Target audience: English for content teachers majoring in technical disciplines, university employees. Duration: 36 hrs. per semester, 2hrs. per week. Learning outcomes: successful students are able to: • demonstrate knowledge of the format of A1 speaking Exam; • demonstrate knowledge of the rules of formal and informal speech; • make practical use of the rules for effective online communication; • demonstrate the ability to use different aspects of the communication skills required for cross-cultural communication in casual, scientific and business settings; • demonstrate the ability to speak out at A1 level and make dialogues. III. The discipline “Modern English language" (Module training programme "English” Module 2) Learning objectives: The programme “Modern English language” aims to develop a foreign language competence which allows students to solve professional tasks at A2 levels of language proficiency according to “The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.” Target audience: English for content teachers majoring in technical disciplines, university employees. Duration: 36 hrs. per semester, 2 hrs. per week. Learning outcomes: successful students are able to: • demonstrate knowledge of some business etiquette rules; • make practical use of the rules for effective online communication; • demonstrate the ability to use different aspects of the communicative skills needed for cross-cultural communication in business settings; • demonstrate the ability to write formal letters, faxes, notes, messages.
