Course summary: the course refers to an elective part of the undergraduate curriculum interdisciplinary professional module, major 13.03.01 "Thermal Power and Heat Systems Engineering".
The course goal is to develop students’ knowledge and skills as pertaining to boilers thermal design, effective fuel combustion structuring in various furnace units, process analysis of boiler units’ circuits.
Course of study core units:
- power fuel and fuel utilization efficiency;
- furnace design and heat exchange aspect inside a furnace;
- heating surface placing, operational factors and computation methods;
- operations of boiler units.
Through the course students complete a term project. Boiler is the term project main object which is a part of an industrial factory boiler unit. Among offered term paper subjects are plans call for a steam or water heating boiler thermal design using referee method with its results analysis.
