Channeling is a type of orientation effects accompanying the passage of relativistic particles through a crystal. Channeling effect occurs at small angles of incidence of fast charged particles with respect to the crystal axes or planes. In fact, channeling is a specific motion (classical at high energies and quantum at relatively low) in the averaged potential over crystal axes or planes.
