Alexander I. Chuchalin is doctor of technical sciences, professor, Head of the Department of Engineering Pedagogy at Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU).
Alexander I. Chuchalin was born in 1952.
After the graduation from Tomsk Polytechnic Institute in 1974 as an Electrical Engineer he occupied the positions of engineer, associate professor, professor.
From 1994 to 2014 he occupied position of TPU vice-rector for academic affairs, first vice-rector, vice-rector for international cooperation and strategic management.
From 2014 to 2016 Prof. Chuchalin occupied positions of Special Advisor to Provost on Education and First Associate Dean of Education at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology.
Prof. Chuchalin occupies the position of the Heard of Department of Engineering Pedagogy at Tomsk Polytechnic University since 2016.
Prof. Chuchalin is focused on pedagogy of higher education, quality management in HEI, engineering programs design and professional accreditation.
Prof. Chuchalin is involved in multiple international expert structures in the field ofhigher education.
Currently he is a member of the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO) Capacity Building Committee, member of the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE) Promotion Committee, member of the Consultative Committee of Aalborg Centre for Problem Based Learning in Engineering Science and Sustainability under the auspices of UNESCO and a member of the Editorial Boards of the International Journal of Quality Assurance in Engineering and Technology Education, European Journal of Engineering Education and Higher Education in Russia.
Prof.Chuchalin published more than 350 scientific works, including 5 scientific monographs, 8 textbooks; and is the author of more than 20 patents.
Prof. Chuchalin received numerous awards and prizes and is a laureate of the Russian Federation Government Prize in Education in 2011.
Prof. Chuchalin teaches the course “Design, Implementation and Quality Assurance of Educational Programs ”.
