The purpose of course is formation of students' knowledge about the basics of computer-aided design and manufacturing. The course includes following chapters: main concepts and definitions in CAD/CAM and general system theory, description of manufacturing processes structure, structure of CAD/CAM, automation of technological preparation of production, integration of different kinds of CAD/CAM. The course is based on knowledge in theory of computer science, mechanical engineering, and engineering graphics.
