Alexander V. Batrakov graduated from Tomsk State University, Tomsk, Russia, in 1984, and he received the Candidate (Ph.D.) degree in physics and mathematics from the Institute of High-Current Electronics SB RAS (IHCE), Tomsk, in 1997. He has been with IHCE since 1984, currently holding the position of Head of laboratory. He teaches physics of vacuum discharge with Tomsk Polytechnic University. His current research interests include physics of prebreakdown phenomena in vacuum, vacuum breakdown, and vacuum discharge.
