The Nobel prize winner will consider the megaproject of the Institute of Cybernetics

The world-renowned scientists, who are the members of the TPU International Scientific Council headed by Nobel laureate, Dan Shechtman, visited the Institute of Cybernetics, and evaluated the megaproject of the Institute which is one of six major research projects of TPU.

Among the members of those arrived in Tomsk were Professor Elazar Gutmanas, Vice President of the Virtual Institute of nano-films in the Israel Institute of Technology - Technion; Professor Ajay Ray, Head of the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Technology, University of Western Ontario (Canada); Professor Conrad Osterwalder, Emeritus Rector of the Technical University of Zurich, former Rector of the United Nations University (Tokyo), former Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations (Switzerland); Professor Manfred Horvat, an independent expert in the field of international science and technology policy and programs, Emeritus Professor of the Vienna University of Technology (Austria); Professor Eberhard Umbach, the former president of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany). Dan Shechtman, the Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry 2011, Professor of Israel Institute of Technology – Technion, headed the delegation.

The project "Telecommunication monitoring and control systems for the unmanned underwater vehicles", aimed at the development of robotics and marine technologies for ocean research and decision-making in emergency situations, was presented and discussed during the meeting.

The idea of the mega-project, presented to the TPU International Scientific Council, is to make the finished innovative technology. And the main task of the members of the Council is the project evaluation and coordination of scientific and innovative development of the Institute of Cybernetics.
