The course "Metrology, Standardization and Certification" deals with the quality assurance of products, works and services. The aims and objectives of metrology, standardization and certification are presented. The types of interchangeability are described. Much attention is paied to the designation rules of the requirements for manufacturing of precision parts and assemblies of different mechanisms in assembly and working drawings. Particular attention is paid to the principle of the interchangeability of products for machine building production. Rationing of precision of manufacturing of smooth cylindrical elements of parts and typical connections of machine parts (splined joints, keyways, screw, roller bearings) are considered. The full interchangeability method of calculating the sizes of chains, as well as the principles of valuation accuracy of form, location and surface roughness are considered. The knowledge gained will help the student to ensure the quality of products and services, to use the standards at various levels in their professional activities, to specify the products subjected to mandatory and voluntary certification.
