In February 2015, the Department of Applied Mathematics of the Institute of Cybernetics, managed by the department head Olga M. Gerget, accepted the invitation of the Lisbon University Nova de Lisboa (Portugal) to submit the joint application for the mobility program Erasmus+.

As a result, this week we’ve received a letter of confirmation from our partners from Lisbon University on that our joint application to the mobility program in the framework of Erasmus+ is approved by the European Commission, and the agreement is reached to start the cooperation. This partnership is designed for 2015-2021 with preselected specific disciplines taught at the Department of Applied Mathematics. The Erasmus+ mobility program provides for exchanges of the students and staff for the period of as long as one semester and several weeks accordingly.

FYI: the University of Nova de Lisboa is in the top 400 best universities of the world according to the QS Word University Rankings 2015/16, moreover this ranking confirms that Nova de Lisboa is a leader among Portuguese universities by reputation among employers.

With no doubt this cooperation will be fruitful for both parties in terms of sharing knowledge and experience in students and staff training and joint research projects.
