Fabio Casati, PhD is a leading scientist, the author of more than 160 scientific papers published in journals cited by the databases Scopus and Web of Science. He has over 20 patents for inventions. His h-index by Scopus is 25, by Web of Science - 19. Fabio Casati gained worldwide recognition as a leader of the scientific projects implemented by Hewlett-Packard Labs, Palo Alto (USA). At the University of Trento, he manages the research in the field of social science and technology development of the barrier-free environment for the senior citizens.

During the meeting with the Director of Institute of Cybernetics, Alena A. Zakharova, the project "Assessment and improvement of the social, economic and emotional well-being of the senior citizens" was discussed.

To implement the project there was created the International Science and Education Laboratory of the technologies to improve the well-being of senior citizens. The interdisciplinary laboratory is established on the network basis and includes 38 employees from different institutes of Tomsk Polytechnic University.

Aim of the project: identification of methods and policies promoting the socio-economic and emotional well-being of senior citizens using theoretical and methodological foundations of the current foreign research.

At the TPU subdivision Fabio Casati visited research laboratories and research and training centers of the Institute of Cybernetics.
